Sunday September 20th September 3 – 5 pm

 On 19th September Highbury will host part of the SWMA New Testament ‘Readathon’. We have been given John, Acts and Romans to read; Cam and Whitney churches are doing the rest. The readathon will take place from 9.30 for a 10am start, until approx. 3pm. Come when you like, for as long as you like; you can listen, even if you don’t want to read. Refreshments will be served.
Volunteer readers please contact the Secretary asap so she can work out a rota.

Embrace the Middle East — our charity for July –  September

This charity supports, enables and Partners with Christians in the Middle East as they work to transform lives and restore the dignity of the most excluded and marginalised in their communities through education, community and healthcare.

In mid-June the charity launched a new initiative A Time to Act. A Time to Act is supported by members of various Christian organisations including Bethlehem Bible College, Kairos Palestine, lona community, the Just Peace Coalition, as well as the Methodist Conference President and the Bishops of York and Gloucester. Highbury Church is marking the Tyndale 500 by studying the Bible. Tyndale translated the Bible into English from Greek and was killed for his work The Bible Course is produced by the Bible Society and has 8 sessions with Andrew Ollerton. We are going to run the course in groups with the hope that as many people as possible will join in and get a bird’s eye view of the Bible. If you are interested, please contact the Church Office, for the attention of the minister.
