Thank you to Highbury from the Scouts who raised over £500 from the barbecue on 5th July. This support has really encouraged them as they start their journey to the 2028 Jamboree.
Embrace the Middle East — our charity for July – September
This charity supports, enables and Partners with Christians in the Middle East as they work to transform lives and restore the dignity of the most excluded and marginalised in their communities through education, community and healthcare.
In mid-June the charity launched a new initiative A Time to Act. A Time to Act is supported by members of various Christian organisations including Bethlehem Bible College, Kairos Palestine, lona community, the Just Peace Coalition, as well as the Methodist Conference President and the Bishops of York and Gloucester. Highbury Church is marking the Tyndale 500 by studying the Bible. Tyndale translated the Bible into English from Greek and was killed for his work The Bible Course is produced by the Bible Society and has 8 sessions with Andrew Ollerton. We are going to run the course in groups with the hope that as many people as possible will join in and get a bird’s eye view of the Bible. If you are interested, please contact the Church Office, for the attention of the minister.

Tyndale 500
Walking the Tyndale Trail from Bristol to North Nibley is one of the events marking the 500th anniversary of William Tyndale’s translation of the New Testament into English. The walk, organised by Joy Howell/South West Midlands Association, is split into three parts:
Past Event – Bristol to Yate on 20th June, starting at 10am at the Tyndale Monument in Bristol (10-12 miles)
Past Event – Yate to Wooton under Edge on 25th June (10-12 miles)
– Wooton to the Tyndale Monument at North Nibley is on 5th September (5 miles) with a ‘finale’ at North Nibley Chapel.
